Hey, played about 2 hours of the beta and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought that map could use some improvements:
- Right now it's only really useful for seeing general direction of 'landmarks' (teleports, big caverns etc). It would be nice if it showed more clearly the 'passability' of the dungeon. I mean, sometimes I see a chest in my screen but it's behind some rocks and I don't see an immediate path to it. I open my map, zoom it in and... see just a mess of pixels that don't show where corridors are and how could I travel. It adds some thrill to exploration I guess, but I feel readability could be improved.
- Minimap! It would be great to have a small minimap that showed just a bit more than you can see on the screen (only explored areas of course). And if it showed corridors clearly (see above) it would reduce the need to open main map. Less need to fiddle with the interface -> more time to blast bad guys with big guns -> action is not interrupted and feels better.
- Not really a map issue, but it would be nice to have some hotkey for consuming energy-restoring items. As above, more action, less fiddling with the GUI. Maybe add some cooldown or restoration over time to prevent instant energy refilling though (not sure how it would work later with more difficulty).
- As others mentioned, multiplayer would make the game 100x more fun, also more weapon properties etc, but that can wait a bit.
Edit: some PC-specific issues
- You can't bind actions to most non-alphanumeric keys (tilde, slash etc).
- Please add an option to specify installation directory.
